The Boeing 767 carried 60 crew and passengers — and five hijackers. After the hijacking the plane flew southwest as far as New Jersey, then turned northeast toward New York.

At 9:03 a.m. it struck floors 77–85 of the south tower. Television cameras trained on the burning north tower broadcast the moment live, and the world understood that this was no accident but an attack.
