Gakhun

Goryeo monk under King Gojong who wrote the Haedong goseungjeon by royal order

In 1215, by royal command, he compiled the Haedong goseungjeon, biographies of eminent monks since the Three Kingdoms. Only part of it survives; it is a source for how Buddhism reached Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla. Written under the military regime, it stands with the later Samguk yusa as a record of Three Kingdoms Buddhism.
