Bak Hyeokgeose

Founder of Silla, chosen king by the six villages of Seorabeol

The Samguk sagi says he was born from an egg, took the throne at thirteen in 57 BCE and named the country Seonabeol (Seorabeol). His royal title was geoseogan. He and his queen Aryeong were revered as the "two sages." Early Silla kings came in turn from three clans, the Bak, Seok and Kim.
