King Jeongjong
Third king of Goryeo, who raised the 300,000-strong Gwanggun and planned to move the capital to Seogyeong
A son of Taejo, he crushed the succession struggle of the royal in-law Wang Gyu with the backing of Wang Sik-ryeom's forces in Seogyeong and took the throne. In 947 he organised the 300,000-strong Gwanggun against a Khitan invasion and set up the Gwanggunsa to command it. He planned to move the capital to Seogyeong to check the Gaegyeong magnates but died before it could be done.
