Yi Mun-jin

Goguryeo scholar of the Taehak under King Yeongyang who condensed the 100-volume Yugi into the five-volume Sinjip

According to the Samguk sagi he was ordered by King Yeongyang in 600 to abridge the Yugi, a 100-volume record said to have been written in the kingdom’s early years. Neither book survives. Compiled as war with Sui was beginning, the work is seen as an effort to set down the kingdom’s story and strengthen unity.
