King Biyu

Twentieth king of Baekje, who formed the Silla–Baekje alliance with Nulji of Silla

After King Jangsu moved Goguryeo’s capital to Pyongyang and pushed south, Biyu sent envoys to Silla in 433 to propose friendship. Nulji Maripgan accepted, forming the Silla–Baekje Alliance. Each kingdom sent troops when Goguryeo attacked the other, and the alliance lasted 120 years until Silla seized the lower Han River in 553.
