King Ugeo

Wiman's grandson and last king of Gojoseon, assassinated during the Han siege

When Gojoseon blocked direct trade between Han and the Jin states to the south to keep the profits of the middleman trade, Emperor Wu of Han invaded by land and sea in 109 BCE. Ugeo held out at Wanggeom Fortress, but the ruling class split and he was killed by ministers who favoured surrender. Wanggeom Fortress fell the following year, and Han set up four commanderies on the land: Lelang, Zhenfan, Lintun and Xuantu.
