Gwanggaeto Secures Liaodong

King Gwanggaeto fought Later Yan repeatedly and took the Liaodong region, making Goguryeo the dominant power in Manchuria.

After Later Yan seized two Goguryeo fortresses in 400, Goguryeo struck back, attacking Sukgun in 402 and repelling Yan assaults on Liaodong and Mokjeo in 405–406, leaving the land east of the Liao River in Goguryeo hands. The dates rest on Chinese histories and are approximate.
