Jang Mun-hyu

King Mu's general, who led Balhae's fleet against Tang's Dengzhou in 732

When relations with Tang soured over the Heishui Malgal, he crossed the sea with a fleet on King Mu’s orders, raided Dengzhou on the Shandong peninsula and killed its prefect Wei Jun. Tang had Silla attack Balhae from the south, but the Silla army turned back in heavy snow and cold. In return Tang recognised Silla’s hold on the land south of the Pae River (Taedong) in 735.
