Go Heung compiles the Seogi

Under King Geunchogo, the scholar Go Heung is said to have compiled the Seogi, a record of Baekje’s history.

The Baekje annals of the Samguk sagi, in the entry for Geunchogo’s 30th year (375), quote an old record: since its founding Baekje had never recorded events in writing, but now, having gained the scholar Go Heung, it first had a "Seogi". The exact year of compilation is unknown, so it is placed in 375 as the entry stands.

The work does not survive. Scholars differ over whether "Seogi" is the title of a book or simply means "written records". It is read alongside Geunchogo’s strengthening of royal power through expansion and father-to-son succession.
