King Uija
Last king of Baekje, who took Daeya Fortress from Silla but surrendered to the Silla–Tang allies
Early on he was so devoted to his parents and brothers that he was called the "Zengzi of the East." In 642 he personally took more than forty Silla fortresses in the west and sent Yunchung to capture Daeya Fortress, a key point west of the Nakdong River. In 643 he joined Goguryeo in attacking Silla’s Danghangseong. In later years he is said to have lived in luxury and ignored loyal ministers such as Seongchung and Heungsu. When the Silla–Tang forces invaded in 660 and Sabi fell, he fled to Ungjin and then surrendered; he was taken to Tang and died there.
